DJ instructs Chowder to lure the house under a crane so he can throw the dynamite down the chimney and into the furnace. Nebbercracker tries to comfort Constance and explains everything is for the best, but when she realizes his intent to destroy her with some dynamite, she attacks him. Finally freed, her spirit briefly reunites with Nebbercracker before ascending to the afterlife and he then thanks the trio for freeing them from their suffering. When Nebbercracker was immediately brought to the hospital, Constance immediately awakened from her years of slumber. This celebration is short-lived, however, as Constance's control over the house is still intact and she manages to reform it from its broken remains, resulting in a more horrific and monstrous form that proceeds to devour the excavator before chasing Chowder. Later on, when DJ and Chowder sought to investigate the house, Chowder, who doesn't believe strange things that occurred inside the house, starts to fool around on the house's lawn. They discovered Bones' empty bottle but dismissed it and toss it aside, unaware that the possessed grass on the lawn pulled it underground. As they make a plan to kill the house, Chowder provides a dummy filled with cold medicine that should cause the house to sleep long enough for them to douse the furnace. The plan almost succeeds, but Officers Landers and Lester arrive and thwart it. Landers discovers the cold medicine inside the dummy, which Chowder took from his father's pharmacy, and arrests them. The cops wrongfully place the trio in the police car while they examine the house. DJ, Chowder, and Jenny escape from the car, but they are trapped in the house. Not long afterwards, he sense his wife's presence and learned that both her death, and love for Nebbercracker led her to possess the house.

Walters leave town for the weekend, leaving him in the care of his babysitter Zee. DJ has been spying on his elderly neighbor Mr. Horace Nebbercracker, who confiscates any item landing in his yard. After DJ's best friend Chowder loses his basketball on Nebbercracker's lawn, DJ is caught by Nebbercracker trying to recover it but the enraged owner apparently suffers a heart attack and is taken away by an ambulance. That night, DJ receives phone calls from the house with no one on the other end. Eavesdropping on Zee's boyfriend Bones, DJ hears him tell Zee about losing his kite on Nebbercracker's lawn when he was a child, and that Nebbercracker supposedly ate his wife. DJ lives across the street from Mr. Nebbercracker, a grumpy old man who takes and keeps anything that lands on his lawn.

As they talk, Chowder accidentally starts the engine until DJ takes the keys out and says that he needs Chowder's help, which Chowder reluctantly agrees.
